Thanks for checking out this Daion Caribou! This is an excellent example of Japanese craftsmanship in amazing condition! This guitar has some pretty cool characteristics, and they all have a purpose- to project all tones better than any other acoustic guitar! This guitar has perfect action and intonation. The frets have so signs of playwear at all. The passive electronics work perfectly and sound surprisingly good. It makes me wonder why I have been buying 9 volts all these years! The binding is beautiful and all seams are as if they were new. The flat top and arch back combined with the strange "indentation" give the low and medium tones great volume and clarity. To help the high end tones shine through, the Caribou was given a brass nut and bridge... very bright and distinct! The flame of the wood is amazing!There are 2 flaws that keep this guitar from being "brand new". The first is a small ding through the clear finish in the front. This is the only ding on the instrument. This guitar sat in its case for almost all of its life with the strings at full tension. This caused the back of the bridge to pull up from the body which effected the action. To repair this we had to use phosphoric acid to eat the adhesive and free the dowels that had held the bridge for the first 37 years of its life. We reset the bridge with normal adhesive and preserved the wood perfectly and brought the action to a perfect level. You can even go lower by taking shims from under the brass bridge. On the body you will see a 2mm brown line butting up to the bridge. That is from the Phosphoric acid we had to use to remove the old adhesive and free up the dowels that held the bridge in place. See the photo. The original bridge has been reset and the guitar plays like a dream!This guitar is a very rare one that dared to be different for all the right reasons! It sounds and plays perfectly and you will not be disappointed! The original form fitting case is obviously included. The Daion Caribous rarely go up for sale, and when they do people are very proud of them. My opening bid is very reasonable. Let's see who wants it! I will be happy to FaceTime with any serious buyer!
