Michael Copeland (born 1949, Connecticut) is renowned world-wide for his woodwinds. Exquisite craftsmanship, pure tone, sturdiness and longevity make his instruments ideal for professionals and learners alike. When assembled, this African blackwood flute, with silver fittings, is nearly 17" long. Disassembled in three sections, it slides into a three-part green nylon, zippered case with sheepskin lining. The tenons are cork. The flute is keyless and keyed in D. Etched on two sections is "04-45" meaning No. 45 made in 2004. "Copeland" is etched on one section. I am the sole owner, having purchased the flute from Copeland Woodwinds Company in 2004, but rarely played it (most of my playing is on whistles and banjo). Copeland instruments sell into the thousands of dollars, but this is bargain-priced to help afficionadoes of his lovely instruments.
