Basically it's a brand new horn with a minor flaw, so although it has never been owned, it cannot be sold as "brand new." Much of the time this flaw is purely cosmetic, often difficult to spot, and has no effect on the playability of an instrument. What is the flaw in this particular instrument? There was a dent in the bell throat that was removed at the factory and is now all but undetectable. There are also some minor scratches on the inside of the bell. These scratches are difficult if not impossible to see from more than a few inches away. Frankly, they're so minor that it's difficult to even get a picture of them, but in the hi-res, straight-on picture of the bell, they're basically between the 9 o'clock to 12 o'clock positions, and also right around the 3 o'clock position. This horn will ship as all brand new factory  horns do, with a new case, mouthpiece, polishing cloth, rotary valve oil, and slide grease. Everyone likes a brand new, perfect instrument, but let's face it. Within a short amount of time that flawless factory finish will get a scratch or a scuff.
