This horn is in very good condition , bought new for my daughter who played it sporadically for two years before losing interest. It has been serviced and is in perfect working order. There is one hardly noticeable dent, which has been photographed. The hard case is also Holton, and was bought new with the horn. There is a Paxman mouthpiece and some special valve lubricant included with the horn (photographed). The cost of these horns new is £4,550.00 including VAT, so this is a fantastic bargain.
Below is Holton's description of the horn: 'The Holton 178 double french horn is an instrument that offers an alternative design that creates a great experience for the young or advanced player. This model offers independent tuning for convenience allowing the player to tune the Bb side of the horn seperately from the F side. This horn has a bright and compact feel. Bell proportions provide a dark but singing tone with fine legato characteristics. Yellow brass produces a higher tone color with more overtones and clearer projection. Capable of playing pianissimo staccato notes sensitively, clearly, and evenly. This horn offers a medium throat bell with all nickel silver construction. Holton horns also feature tapered rotors which create longevity for the instrument.

Material Brass branches and bows, solid nickel silver connecting ferrules. Both inside and out are solid nickel silver.
