At The Music Locker we will do all we can for you to get the instrument you want, including part-exchanges. Call us anytime on 07970061897 or 07831118877 to discuss.DescriptionAs described on VintageHofner:"We assume that the Elpico brand name was derived from an abbreviation of Lee Products Company (L-P-Co). Other brand names used were Dulci, Princess and Elizabethan. Key markets seem to have been radios & record-players, but various small Elpico amplifiers were made as PA units or to amplify record decks and tape recorders. These were capable of being used as guitar amplifiers and some were pressed into service as such, notably by Paul McCartney and Dave Davis in the early days of the Beatles and Kinks respectively. Most such units are seen in a two-tone green/cream finish, which suggests that they were made in the mid-late 1950s and early 1960s at which time most amp manufacturers used similar colour schemes".An extremely rare amplifier to come across!More information can be found here - http://www.vintagehofner.co.uk/britamps/restof/elpico8.htmlService History We pride ourselves on our inspections and the professional service of each amplifier to UK regulations, making this ready to plug in and play. Everything has been checked, including the valve, and it now has a pure sound to die for! 2x capacitors have been replaced, along with 6x signal capacitors. The controls and jack sockets have been cleaned. It has also undergone a soak test and a safety inspection. Service history will be included with the sale. Cosmetic Inspection This has been well played in it's 60+ year lifetime. The previous owner painted the amplifier over the original tolex, which we have tried to strip back. However there are some remaining bits, as pictured. It has also had one banana knob replaced, as pictured. Originality In our opinion, all the parts that matter are original. Summary These exceed the quality of most new amplifiers and are always on the increase in regards to collectability. Good enough for The Beatles - good enough for us! We pride ourselves on our high quality and safe worldwide shipping at an affordable price so please see the quote for your country. Postage price includes boxed and secure packaging, insurance for the sale price and full tracking via UPS. Personal inland delivery is also a possibility so please contact us for more information. A deal can be done on any item collected as we strive to keep the risk of breakages as low as possible for such delicate beauties. Please Note - If you're not located within Europe, you may be eligible to pay import duty or tax, of which The Music Locker cannot be held responsible. Please also be aware that each amplifier is serviced to UK regulations and our customers overseas may need to make slight alterations to meet voltage requirements. Please make sure you are aware of this before buying.
