This is my 1991 Strat Plus Deluxe. I happily bought this guitar with money from a Workman's Comp medical claim. It is one of the very few brand new guitars I've ever bought.This was the beginning of a new era, when Fender was really stepping up in the world of guitar tech advances. As such, this guitar features three different super-quiet Lace Sensor Pickups. This Deluxe model came with a middle position Silver Strat Sensor pickup, giving a "fat Strat" sound for increased output and more midrange; a neck position Blue Strat featured a '50s humbucker sound with slightly increased output and warmer tone; and a bridge position Red Strat pickup for a hot humbucker sound. Note also the Wilkinson roller nut, the drop in vibrato arm, and the Sprezel locking tuners. Smooth, and reliable all around.In addition to the remarkably quiet pickups, what sold me on this guitar was its buttery feel and playability. Without a doubt, the best playing Strat I've ever owned. The amazing color was just a sweet bonus. I've always thought of it as a translucent charcoal grey, but I've been told by someone who seemed to know that the official name is "Ebony Frost". Either way it's striking. I've tried to include some shots that show the pretty bookmatched grain.I've also included a pic of the one unfortunate chip in the back of the guitar that occurred when a friend leaned my guitar against an amp. Other than that, the guitar finish is in good shape with minimal signs of wear.Not much else to say other than this was one of the top of the line guitars back in '91 which will got you a lot of great American made guitar craft for the money.Comes with original hard shell case."As Is" sale, with all sales final.
