Fender closed the Fullerton Vintage Factory in 1985 to move into the new Corona California digs starting in 1986. That's when they created the American Vintage Reissue Series (AVRI) which were constructed with vintage stock leftover from the Fullerton era. This was also brought about when the company was purchased from CBS by a private group of investors and Fender luthiers and artisans. Corona was also the start of the Cutom Shop guitars. This guitar is manufacture dated (as written on the neck heel) 6/14/1986 as well as on the potentiometers (see photo). It is a '62 Reissue (AVRI) Fender Stratocater with serial number V0**004. It is of excellent quality and workmanship destined to be highly collectable. The body is light and the neck is rosewood on maple with new Dunlop 6105 medium jumbo frets. It weighs in at 7.5 lbs. The pickups are a set of Rumplestiltskin RW/RP boutique hand wound single coil with ohm output 6.1 neck & middle 6.7 bridge. It has a treble bleed installed on the volume pot and new 5-way toggle switch. Yes, bridge ashtray cover and white back spring cavity cover are included as is the Black G and G Vinyl Fender case.Buyer pays shipping. No international shipping.
