What makes this guitar special: This gorgeous D-28 was just recently acquired from Charlie Carter, who was Tammy Wynette's touring guitarist. I had met Charlie a few years ago at the Dallas Guitar Show & purchased a Telecaster from him back then. We bumped into each other again at a recent show & he had the Martin with him. The guitar has a wonderful look to it with an amazing voice - warm, rich tone & very powerful like a cannon! Professionally set up & ready for action straight out the case. For those interested, Charlie is doing well & it was a real joy to see him again. Super nice guy & a lot of fun to chat with.Cosmetic Condition: Great shape for its age with killer looks & an ultra cool, true vintage vibe. Various nicks, chips, dents & dings; surface scratches, buckle rash, weather checking & some finish wear. There's a very small crack in the top that was professionally glued & cleated. It's under the pickguard (which is unoriginal) & cannot be seen from the top. Overall the guitar has a wonderful look to it with a beautiful patina.Neck: V-shaped mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Ebony fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Grover Pat Pend tuners are in perfect working condition. 1 11/16" nut width; 25 1/2" scale length. Body: Solid spruce top with 6-ply binding. Ebony bridge with cream end pins, unoriginal tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid Brazilian rosewood sides & back with 3-ply binding checkered center strip. There's quite of bit of wear in the finish on the treble side of the back, but the Brazilian shows off some really gorgeous variegation in the wood. There is no pickup & the guitar weighs 4 lbs 10.9 oz.Case: Unoriginal, vintage hardshell case included. Two of the four clasps are broken, but the case serves its purpose well.
