This is a Roger Giffin handmade Stratocaster that I bought secondhand and have owned for more than 10 years. Plays beautifully with its rosewood fretboard and fat frets. Speigel tuners always keep it in tune. I believe the pickups are noise cancelling EMGs in keeping with lead guitarists of the time – so makes a good Strat for the recording studio. The bridge pickup is connected to the 9v battery to boost the signal for lead solos (and is shown in the photo as being exposed without the cover on for illustration purposes and cover is included in the sale). There are a number of marks, scratches and buckle marks on the back – as shown and which I do not think detract from the sound or resonance but do add to the relic appearance. If you are looking for a pristine guitar or one with a factory-relic finish, then this might not be the one for you. For the price of a factory Strat, this is a handmade relic. In any event you would not be disappointed by the sound, whether lead rock, country, jazz or blues. I am throwing in for free the Kinsman Tweed Strat case. If you have any questions or want to have a try, then I have a 15w Marshall transistor amp to demo or bring your own. Located in the South Hampshire area near Portsmouth for viewing or pickup, and can deliver locally or to London as may be agreed. Given the size and weight, I am suggesting £30 for UK postage, and £100 for Europe and N America postage. I will reimburse any postage that is mistakenly paid when collected in person. Thanks.
