(2 panels that make up a guitar top). This "matched top set" is how most 50's burst were jointed together where boards were taken from the same log where it was either flitch matched, slip matched, flip matched and/or random matched- this type of application is still done today and the successful ones tend to have the illusion of being book-matched. These has developed patina from storage with excellent figuring, very good chatoyance, very good growth rings complimented by an excellent tap tone! These has old/world character due to the sprinkles of brown "pith fleck" syanymous with eastern maple. This is a must for those looking for one of the main ingredient to do a re-top or conversion with a nitro burst finish. LP single-cut halve outline pattern ("A" & "B" side) for fit and visual reference shown on each halve of the panel- front and back pattern shown. Ideal for those that want an ideal period top for an LP conversion or a re-top! Dimensions (approximate for each panel):Panel 1 (left panel): 19.625" long x 7.250" wide x .730" thick (at lowest point). Panel 2 (right panel): 19.625" long x 7.00+" wide x .735" thick (at lowest point). Old grown, air dried/kiln dried/ well seasoned (8-9 percent moisture content). Slab sawn/flat sawn cut. Cream sapwood. Panels have been rough jointed planed on both faces with the other 2 side edges being rough cut- these panels have been rough surfaced only to show color, grain and figure and will need to be jointed flat so that each panel is dead flat and even. This will need properly acclimation to your shop prior to fabrication. Clear shellac/denatured alcohol mixed applied to the surface to help show color, grain and figure (if any). Photographed with exterior natural lighting conditions. Ends sealed with Anchor seal. Physical weight is approx. 4.60 pounds. *****COMMENT: there is an outside corner wane (missing wood) at the one outside corner of the one panel (approximately 5-3/4" long, .975" wide and .475" thickness at this area)- see photograph close up for dimensions and detail reference.
