GIBSON SG VOS HISTORIC 2013
MAESTRO LYRE VIBRATO

You do not see these very often and this example is almost imaculate.I had it re freted by the most excellet builder and Luthier John Case of Case guitars ( have a look and see what he does) because I am not a fan of Gibson fret jobs with the flat tops to the frets and nibs at the fret ends so John re fretted it (bill included) with Dunlop 6100 jumbo frets and fitted a new bone nut and as you can imagine it plays rather well and there is virtually no fret wear.
This guitar weighs 6lb 8oz and unlike other SG's it's very well balanced and does not suffer from neck dive. There is the full Gibson description below but highligts are

This is a very fine playing and sounding SG is excellent hardely played condition and I think you would struggle to find a better example. Here is the full spec.New from Gibson's Nashville Custom Shop is 2013's range of Historic Reissue guitars. The most accurate vintage-influenced instruments yet to come out of the Custom Shop! Features include:
Single layer Rosewood fingerboardsAniline dye colouring- Aniline dye is a vintage woodcraft colouring material and technique that was abandoned due to color-fastness (it fades when exposed to sunlight) and difficulty in applying within a manufacturing environment. This results in superior wood grain presentation and depth of colour."New" tuning keys are as near a replica of the original Kluson tuners as is available, they feature the proper vintage profile, color and performance specificationsHide Glue Neck-Fit- hide glue is known for its reparability as it can be re-heated to remove the neck without damage to surrounding wood. Many argue that the original hide-glue guitars have a different tone than those with synthetic glueCustom Bucker Pickups- simply Gibson's most accurate recreation of the original 50's PAF pickupsHistoric Truss Rod Assembly- Gibson have re-engineered the truss rod, truss rod washer and anchor to their original form. Original vintage Gibsons did not have the "tubing" that surrounds the truss rod of modern Gibsons. The tube was put in place to reduce vibration/noise from the truss rod which would occasionally rattle within the truss rod routing channel. Vintage enthusiasts prefer the non-tube version and consider it more authenticAccurate Vintage Colour Fingerboard and Body Binding- a darker cream color to match the original 50's Gibsons
