This is a beautiful instrument, and one that is meant to play. T serial number puts it in the mid 90's from Japan. Japanese Fenders have a reputation for great quality and this is no exception. Comes shipped in a used Fender plastic hardshell case (it's done its job well). Guitar is 7.4 pounds on my bathroom scale.
Ready to plug in and play! Some modifications from stock setup: The 5 way pickup switch is wired as follows:
Neck
Neck + Bridge in series
Neck + Bridge in parallel
Neck + Bridge out of phase
Bridge Tone knob has a no load setting when turned all the way up to take it out of the signal chain.
Compensated brass saddles make the intonation way more accurate up and down the neck on all strings. Good traditional Tele tones with some extra very useable options. The series setting makes the 2 pickups act like one big meaty humbucker, and the out of phase is fantastic for funk and some old school blues sounds. A very versatile and well built guitar with extremely minimal wear. Speaking of that, there are a few small indentations on the top of the body. I tried to get them to show up in the pictures but they are hard to capture. Can only see them when light reflects at an angle off the surface. That's about the only wear I can see on this 20+ year old instrument. This is the Foto Flame finish, not a resl flamed maple neck or cap on the body. How it's been explained to me is a thin film is placed over the wood and then the finish is applied, giving the wood that appearance. I've looked closely at it and honestly can't tell it's not real flamed maple, but I'm not a wood expert. Shipping to the lower 48 States.
Guitar stand not included. Thanks for looking!
