Swamp Ash Special.
Big time versatility with classic PRS tone, workmanship and looks!
The PRS Swamp Ash offers players a great platform for a variety of music styles. The body is made of carved swamp ash for that unmistakable airy tone. The 25 inch scale maple neck feature a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and abalone dot inlays. PRS Swamp ash treble and bass pickups team up with a Seymour Duncan vintage rails center pickup.
The PRS trem and locking tuners mean rock solid performance. The finish is a gorgeous transparent natural. A great guitar for the musician that needs to cover all of the bases! This PRS plays and sounds nice. The Wide Fat neck feels great and the frets are good.
The pickup deliver a ton of sounds. A really nice PRS that will appeal to many players.
This is a nice used guitar. It shows light pick and clearcoat scratches and some minor hardware corrosion on the pickup covers. Nothing major. Comes in original PRS hardshell case. PRS has unfortunately discontinued the Swamp Ash. Really a shame as many players would name the Swamp Ash as one of PRS' best models.At the heart of the tone department you’ll find a pair of PRS Swamp Ash humbuckers
(based on the vintage flavoured McCarty pick-ups) that flank a Seymour Duncan Vintage Rails –
All controlled via a 3 way selector switch,
along with a push/pull coil tap option on the tone pot –
Due to the nature of a bolt on maple neck, coupled with a swamp ash body,
the natural tonal character of the Swamp Ash model is much more akin to that of a Fender, with responsive and percussive attack, hence it is very lively –
Remember that if you fit a humbucking pick-up to a Strat,
it does not suddenly sound like a Les Paul, it simply sounds like a beefed up Strat, with fatter mids, whilst retaining those sparkling,
lively highs – Well that is precisely what the PRS Swamp Ash Special offers you –
Fat and lively Strat-esq flavoured tones –
The humbuckers sound clear and sparkling on clean amp settings,
yet introduce some gain into your amp and the Swamp Ash will enter into,
