Believe the hype, 80s Japanese Reissues are championship contenders
The story of 80s Fender, Fender Japan and its competitors is a thing for the history books.  This very guitar is a product of that history and it is a lovely baby.  57' Reissues started in Fender Japan in 1982 with the Squier 57' Reissue and that model continued until 1984 when the 57' reissue was transferred over to Fender officially and rebadged with an E-series Serial number.  Along with the rebadging came some upgrades in hardware and a 50% price hike at the time.  The quality of this guitar is extremely high and it is a perfect example of the excellence that was Japanese manufacturing in the 80s.My favorite part about guitars from this time period (82-87,) more specifically guitars from the Fujigen factory in this time period, are the neck shapes and contours.  One-piece maple neck like this one are just to die for.  These necks are wicked fast and the fretwork on these guitars is legendary.  It's an absolute pleasure to play on this strat.  Being an 86' Fender, there were no USA 57' reissues made that year (or any USA Fenders for that matter,) so Fender Japan/Fujigen made sure they were crafting an outstanding guitar that could live up to the legacy of pre-CBS Fenders.
The pickups appear to be original and they sound superb.  There's nothing but classic low-output Fender tones to be had.  It's versatile like any great strat and is never too bright or thin.  It sparkles with some reverb and smokes with some overdrive.  This guitar reacts beautifully to fuzz pedals and can go anywhere from Hendrix to 60s Stones.  The tremolo works perfectly and holds superb tune.  That's no surprise when it comes stock with classic Gotoh tuners.   There is virtually no fretware on this guitar and there is no buzz or fretting to be found.  It has been recently cleaned and professionally setup for optimal playability.  The guitar does have some light scratches/dings/poly-checking throughout and two patches on the back from where a sticker had been applied by the previous owner (see pictures.)  The front face of the guitar is gorgeous and clean with no sign of pick-scratches.   Opening bid at $625, Buy It Now at $825.REFUNDS AND RETURNS:
Due to previous fraudulent claims by a buyer, I do not offer refunds or returns.  eBay's claims process heavily favors the buyer and they do not/will not inspect or investigate items in the case the buyer misrepresents what they receive. I try my best to list the guitars as accurately as possible to avoid any potential issues down the line. Please know what you are buying and if you have any questions, ask them first---I will be more than happy to answer them promptly. If you would like to see more pictures of the guitar, they are available on request. A video test of any guitar listed is also available upon request. Thank you! Here's the feedback from my last transaction; if I say it's a great guitar, it's a great guitar: -"THE BEST! Exactly As Described! Best Packing Ever! Great Seller!
