8-course lute by Bob Lundberg for sale. European spruce top with Oregon yew bowl joined with ebony fillets in between. The bridge is pear wood, the pegbox is beech with Brazilian rosewood and the fingerboard is also rosewood. Approximately 61.5 cm string length. Hans Frei body. Bob Lundberg made this lute in the late 70s, but when Ron Andrico of Mignarda purchased it in the mid-90s (from the original owner who never played it), he asked Lundberg to look it over. Lundberg removed the old top, put on the new top and re-braced it. Kingham case (with quite a few scuffs—Ron was a professional musician!). Very comfortable fretboard and remarkably mellow sound; currently tuned at A = 415. I’m simply not giving this fine instrument enough love. If you’re interested, you’ll find sound clips of this lute at in the Mignarda recording "Au Pres de Vous: French chansons of the 16th century, which you can find online by searching under "duo Mignarda" (most of the songs use this lute; try 2, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13), and you can see Ron using it on YouTube on a public tv special. Ships free: ConUS or Canada only. 48 hour approval.
