The Arturo Valdez guitar shop was established in Los Angeles in 1965, and opened up shop in 1978 on 7420 Sunset Blvd. Valdez constructed guitars for various artist over the past 50 years, including Eric Clapton, Elton John, John Lennon, Gene Simmons (Valdez invented the Axe Guitar), John Denver, Charro, etc. This extremely rare flamenco guitar model produces a very bright gorgeous tone for both the treble and bass strings. Valdez constructed this model to be optimized for use with Savarez Allianz Medium Tension strings; however,  D'Addario EXP Hard Tension strings may be used to produce more bass. Valdez's unique mother of pearl work is featured on the saddle, as well as his his easy-to-string saddle holes; and signature tap-board. Unique flaws included some minor dings on the sides, face, and back of neck from the normal use from gigging. A cejilla (capo) from Granada, Spain, and hard guitar case are both included. The Valdez guitar shop has closed in recent years upon Valdez's retirement. This is the last model of its kind available.
