Sonor, one of the world’s leading drums and percussion manufacturers today celebrates its “lifetime relationship” with Steve Smith. Sonor is issuing only 77 Steve Smith 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Snare Drums, each with a stunning semi gloss Mountain Burl veneer on the inside and outside of the shell. Each drum is handmade in Sonor´s German factory. Sonor, proudly celebrating a tradition of over 140 years of excellence, has been working with Steve Smith for the last 40 years. In 1977, a young Steve Smith -by that time touring with Jean-Luc Ponty- was on the search for his first high quality drum set. He happened to fall in love with a Sonor kit on display at a local shop in Boston, Massachusetts. Since then, Sonor has remained Steve’s one and only choice for professional drums with Journey, Steps Ahead, Vital Information, and other many other milestones that made him a true drumming great.Please note that the badge does not indicate production sequence. It merely indicates that this drum is one of only 77 made worldwide. This drum has no serial number. Features:
