For sale is a used Lakland 44-02 Deluxe Skyline 4 String Bass Guitar. I bought this bass about 5 years ago from a working musician, this was his primary instrument. I've only used it to play at home and to jam with friends. It has great tone, a wide range of adjustment and functionally works pretty much perfectly. The only thing it may need right now is a basic setup, some fresh strings, and maybe some fret leveling if you like a super low action. Otherwise the neck is straight with a perfect semigloss finish, the electronics are flawless, and intonation is spot on. The finish on the body does have some cracks as shown in the photos, most of it is on the back of the body but there is a bit visible on the front of the upper horn. There is also a chip in the finish on the back that looks like it's from a belt buckle. The cracks appear to only be in the polyurethane finish and the underlying wood is undamaged. I bought the bass with these cracks in the finish and they have not spread at all in that time. I have always kept the bass in a hard shell case. This is one of the original 44-02 models made in Korea, production was later moved to Indonesia where they are currently made and are generally considered to be inferior to the original Korean made models. This bass has the same hardware, pickups and active preamp from the US made 4-94 Lakland bass, featuring a single coil neck pickup and a dual coil bridge "humbucker" pickup. The controls consist of a 3 band equalizer, volume knob that also has a push-pull feature to switch between active and passive modes, a neck-bridge pickup blender knob, and a 3 way toggle switch for the bridge pickup that allows you to isolate the dual coils or use them together. The body is Ash with a Cherry quilted maple top which is what makes it a "deluxe" model. The head features Hipshot tuners that stay in tune for days, a string through body high mass bridge for long sustain. Maple fretboard for easy maintenance, and I added Dunlop dual design strap locks.  This bass is designed to give you the sounds of a 60's or 70's style Fender Jazz by utilizing the rear coil isolation switch, a Musicman Stingray by using the humbucker solo, or a totally unique Lakland sound when all 3 coils are used together. A skilled musician can really get a wide variety of sounds out of this bass once you get used to how the controls work. I will include the Fender gig bag shown in the photos for free which the bass will be shipped in for added protection.
