The SRH500F from Ibanez offers a fresh take on fretless bass, with unique design elements throughout. It doesn't have traditional bass pickups, but an AeroSilk Piezo pickup, designed to help translate all the tonal elements of playing fretless with flatwounds to an amplified setting. This piezo design frees up more room on the guitar's top, which is made of spruce with mahogany back and sides. This bass' unprecedented comfort is furthered through its semi-hollow construction with an "f-hole" in the top as well as a playability-aiding Forearm Contour and Contoured neck heel. The Jatoba/Bubinga 5-Piece neck is silky smooth to play, and thanks to the deep cutaways and the aforementioned neck heel, playing this bass is effortless.
