Appalachian Dulcimer hand made in America 1990 with Koa wood brought back from Hawaii for the luthier who described it as one of the best pieces of Koa he ever worked with. It is a stunning instrument.Overall length 77cm - upper bout 16cm - lower 18.5cm - body depth is 5cm
It has a pick up internally fitted see picture but I can't make out the brand or model I would imagine its quality as is the instrument. It looks like it would need a pre amp if going through a desk. Grover tuners. Wooden nut and bone end piece, nice tailpiece. It has been stored when not in use without strings and the Body treated with a wood polish and neck treated with boiled linseed oil.It was made for a professional folk musician called Doris Catherman by Dr Dennis Siler July 1990. It will come in a modified expensive Viola hard case with leather over case. It will packaged inside case then case wrapped and boxed and sent tracked. Note I haven't modified the case yet I will wait until it sells then rearrange the internal space which is for a viola, I have checked it will fit the case. Any questions are welcome. It will come without strings as I don't know how the new owner would tune it or gauge of strings required. I am a gigging musician but don't use the dulcimer so its been stored with strings off for a good while. It is as new.
