Due to the Fullerton shut down in early 84, Fender serial numbers for the '80s aren't that regular. This will register as a 1983 in a serial number database, but Fender never used this bridge for a Telecaster until after the reformation in Corona in 86. The last of the 'Standard' Telecaster guitars of the Fullerton era had a top loading bridge. They also totally stunk. During the 82-84 much ballyhooed Smith era Fender had the 52 AVRI, Elite series & the Standard Telecasters. They were all pretty shoddy which is a big reason Fender had to restructure from 84-86.  This is of much better quality than a 1982-84 Telecaster.  Used but not abused.
