These mods were done by a professional (at the time, he was DFA’s in-house tech in NY). At first, he was hesitant to modify this machine, but after it was done he remarked at how amazingly well these sounds sit in a mix. I couldn’t agree more. Overall, cosmetically, the unit is in fantastic condition. Never gigged, and never left my climate controlled, smoke-free studio. I purchased this from its original owner in 2009 on Craigslist – it came to me in its original box (which I no longer have), and I was told by the owner that it literally had a dozen or so hours of total use. As you can see, I’ve done my best to preserve this condition. When not in use, it was always covered to prevent dust build-ups, etc. I treat my gear with the utmost respect. You will not be disappointed. Comes with original manual (minus the cover..sorry – but I have the cover/back page that came loose), an M-64C memory backup cartridge, and also an Eprom for OS Version 4.0 in the event that you wish to upgrade the 909 to version 4 which is supposed to improve Midi timing. I never had any issues with my unit, although I always relied on Din to sync it. I have never had any issues whatsoever with the functionality of this unit. I’m trying to hold back my emotions on this one but it’s hard. It sounds f’ing incredible, and it honestly it breaks my heart to have to let this go. Tough times, yada yada – I just hope that this goes to the right home.
