Ultra Rare X3 Guitars Mark Fain Custom Shop Model: dated in cavity June 25 ‘10. Signed on back of head stock. One of those boutique builders that little seems to be known about. If you go to their website, it was last updated in 2008 and is almost dead :-(. I believe they began in the Houston area and started as a repair shop/ pickup rewinder/builder? I know Mark Fain had a cool metal band in the 90s called “Chlorine” also based in Houston. I am GUESSING the two got together and X3 Guitars designed a model for Mark. This thing is a beast (just under 10 lbs). It is a solid little guitar with a very nice neck/setup and a nice sounding tonal range. Designed to not have a back plate (no screw holes) it is set up w a blocked tailpiece. It is beautiful !!! Never abused, there is only very light wear. If you collect the unusual, you may be the only one on your block :-). Including a well padded gig bag to keep it warm and happy. *****PLEASE READ*****
