This drum is part of a 1961-2 Gretsch Progressive Jazz Drum Set purchased from the estate of the original owner. I was told the set was purchased at the Ballou music store in Dayton, Ohio, sometime around the later part of 1961. There were in fact percussion music books with the set stamped Ballou Music store. The set included a 1961 Gretsch catalog which pictured this Bass drum with the kit. I am selling the drums separately for ease of shipping. The drum is listed in the catalog as model 4249 and was also pictured with the "BOP" Outfit. The drum is all original including hardware and heads. It is equipped with the #4942 Rail Consolette Tom Tom holder; #4960 Disappearing Spurs, #5430 Jimmy Pratt Bass Drum Tone Control, and # 4805 All- Height adjustable Cymbal Holder. The color chart in the catalog shows the warp to be a Silver Sparkle Pearl. The drum is in very nice condition, only minor pitting and some black lacquer paint wear on the wood hoop. There are no splits, cracks, holes that don't belong. Wrap seams are beginning to lift somewhat. I have included the original tom tom rack adjustment key.Shipping to lower 48 States.
