Up for sale here is a super clean 1983 USA made fender strat in A1 condition. These are tough to find in this condition and is great vintage option and new fender prices. This guitar is all original asides from the input jack which has just been replaced (and was setup at the same time by Franco Nastasi - guitar luthier legend. Somewhat maligned due to the freeflyte trem and the one volume and tone knob - but the trem works wonderfully (all orig and rare as now) and the one tone and volume knob means less complications - more silimar to a tele. Such a great sounding strat - these pickups sound have the strat sparkle but have plenty of oomph, moreso than remakes. Fat sounding strat. The action is fast and low. No buckle rash , really great nick for a 34 year old axe. Comes with original fender case.The 'Dan Smith' Strat was a response to the Asian invasion of the early eighties. Fender altered the design of the Stratocaster in order to compete, therefore we see the omission of the jack plate with the socket moved to the scratch-plate, and the loss of a tone control. Fender went back to a single ply scratch-plate and introduced a new tremolo system that negated the need for a back rout.
