Description
Brand: Ludwig Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
Exact Year: 1965

This is a set I created using the finest quality vintage Ludwig drums. It's sort of a "bop/ light rock " configuration Bass drum was an original, single pull, virgin 12x20.  Serial number 90,360 which places it very late '64 to very early 65. Original bearing edges, white interior paint, keystone badge and hoops. In round. The hoops have new 60's vintage black oyster Pearl inlays. Hoops were repainted.  It was drilled for authentic vintage Ludwig hardware, rewrapped  in black Nitron  and installed with vintage Gretsch light spurs by Precision Drums of NY. Is fitted with brand new Evans level 360EQ resonant head and Evans EMAD batter in practically new condition with the mounted muffling ring.  • Rise tom is all original except heads.    Black Oyster 8 x 12  club date, center lug  drum.  Serial number 221,454 which places it around Sept 65. Intact baseball bat muffler handle. Works perfectly .  Floor tom was originally a 15x12 tom.. Not a converted snare. Serial number 102,563 which places it at very early 65 . Original hardware, bearing edges, badge and interior white paint. Was rewrapped in Vintage 60's black oyster.. And had a set of authentic Ludwig floor tom mounts( new) installed. Again by Precision Drums of NY. All shells match same makeup and year. All solid.. No extra holes. Bass drum has the remaining center hole from the single pull mounts. All hardware shiny.  Of note, and only issue.. A minor one, I'm saying. It is keeping the price down a bit.  The wrap on the rise tom has the true look of abalone shell as its  an original wrap.. Boy they made them great back then. It appears  slightly different than the floor tom wrap,  mainly in full light. Stage light would diminish this a lot.  Sounds amazing. Lots of resonance in all of the drums. Real character. The bass sounds much bigger and is light in weight. It miked up on a night we played to two thousand and sounded like a 14x 22.  These drums are rare. 12x 20 virgin bass drum is about impossible to find..15 x12 original tom drum and fully intact rise tom from the heart of the British Invasion. Don't let these get away!  Please note. I estimated shipping charge. Buyer to pay EXACT amount. L
