• Gibson Les Paul Spotlight Special – Vintage 1983 – Wonderful Player and Museum Condition. Insanely cool!Wow. OMG. What can I say? This guitar is so clean, in such great condition, nearly mint. Easily “Excellent Plus” condition. I honestly don’t see a single scratch, nick, chip, or any buckle rash at all. There is one pencil lead size dent near the jack plate (not thru the finish, see pix). There is virtually NO play wear - including the frets. The tiniest little area of bubbling is present in the bass end of the bridge. If you had the hang tags this gem could almost be sold as new old stock. You won’t believe it when you see how fantastic it is. The guitar is almost brand new condition right down to the case and ‘Pat. Appl. For' stickers on the pickup bezels (indicating the sought-after original Tim Shaw pickups). I’ve owned this guitar for 12 years. The neck is straight, action is fabulous, and the guitar plays and sounds like a dream. If you google ‘Les Paul Spotlight Special’ you’ll find tons of info on these fabulous and beautiful guitars. 211 Spotlight Specials were built, all in 1983, and all carry the Custom Shop label and inked serial on the back of the headstock. Most Spotlights are not bookmatched; many are in fact quite different side to side. This one is a stunning, perfect bookmatch flame making it an extraordinarily beautiful ASB (Antique Sunburst) example. No repairs, breaks, cracks, or any of that nonsense. She’s absolutely original in every way, rare, collectible, and you’ll never find another 34-year-old Les Paul this good, much less one of this quality and rarity. It's a beauty, and has 34 years of seasoning and mellow mojo. Don’t let it get away!
