What makes this guitar special: A tastefully modified player’s grade piece, with terrific playability and a stellar plethora of tonal offerings. A previous owner had a B-Bender professionally installed, and upgraded the neck pickup to a Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker. The back has a snap-on pad installed for added comfort, which also serves to protect the signature of the late great Danny Gatton. Chock full of mojo, with a fantastic patina-the olympic white has faded into a lovely French Vanilla color. Professionally setup by the experts at Cream City Music, this one will arrive ready to play right out of the case.Cosmetic condition: Great shape for its age, with some standard wear and tear throughout. Various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, chips, and scuffs in the finish, with areas of finish wear and weather checking throughout. A Red Label sticker was long ago affixed to the top, and the body has been routed to accommodate a replacement mini-humbucker in the neck. The tuners are replacement Grovers, with the exception of the high-E string tuner, which is unbranded. The professionally installed B-Bender is unoriginal. The signature takes up much of the back of the guitar. A snap-on back pad has been installed. Fingerboard edges show wear consistent with age (it appears the guitar was used for slide for some time), as do frets-but there’s still some life left in them. The original finish has changed hue with time, and the guitar carries a faint tobacco odorThe middle bridge saddle is a contemporary replacementOverall, this one has an outstanding player’s vibe with a great look to it.Body: Solid ash body in olympic white finish with string-through bridge. Triple steel barrel saddles. 3-ply black pickguard. Aftermarket B-Bender with chrome cover plate. Danny Gatton signature on back of guitar with 3-button snap-on back pad.Weight: 10 lb, 2.3 ozNeck: Medium profile C-shaped maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. 1 5/8” nut width, 25 1/2" scale length. Replacement black Grover tuners function perfectly. Frets show wear consistent with age, but still have life left in them. Neck is straight and plays great up and down the length of the fingerboard. Neck stamp is mostly gone, but appears to date to ’79.Electronics: Vintage Seymour Duncan single coil pickup in the bridge position (7.36k ohms), and vintage Seymour Duncan mini-humbucker in the neck (5.99k ohms). 3-way pickup selector switch and knurled chrome knobs, 1x tone, 1x volume. Pots date to ’78 and all electronics are fully functional.Case: Original hard shell case included.
