Morris Nylon String Electro-Acoustic Guitar : MR10GThey are not well-known in the UK, but the Morris Guitar company has been making high quality handcrafted instruments in Nagano, Japan for many years. (Not to be confused with Rose Morris!) Their hand made models are all solid woods and are impeccably crafted with gorgeous inlay work. They are without a doubt in the same league as the best American makers. This is their top-of-the-range nylon string guitar, and not only is it beautifully constructed, but it is a joy to play, especially if you are used to steel string or electric instruments, because the neck plays like a well set up electric guitar! It has been designed for the steel string player who wants a high quality nylon instrument, so the string spacing is narrower than a classical guitar, the fingerboard is curved, and the neck is thin so that you can get your thumb round (if, like me, you play that way). The action is incredibly low for a nylon string guitar.Great for jazz or latin-american style playing!----------------------------------------------------------------------The acoustic tone is strong and well-balanced, and the electric sound is great. There is a three-band graphic equaliser built in.The machine heads are a feature that I have seen only on Morris nylon guitars : at first sight they look like normal Gotohs, but they have been made with an extra-thick barrel for the nylon strings!----------------------------------------------------------------I am selling it with its original case.------------------------------------------------------------The only thing I have never liked about this guitar : it is called “Rumbler!!!!” I can only assume that the Japanese company were not well-advised in choosing an English name for the MR10G, and they did not realise that rumbler wouldn’t have the best connotations! Never mind! What’s in a name?----------------------------------------------ConditionThere are a few surface scratches, but no major dents, and certainly no cracks. The frets are very slightly worn but nowhere near needing a re-fret. The staining on the fingerboard between the frets is a little worn from use, but there is no wear on the wood. The neck is completely straight, and has not needed any truss-rod adjustment for years.
---------------------------------------Delivery will be free within the UK. For delivery to Europe, the USA, Japan etc, the cost will probably be between £150 and £200, but I will pass on the actual cost to you. Message me if you want a quote.-------------------------------------------------------------I bought it new in 1996 from Ivor Mairants in London after trying many nylon string electro/acoustics by all the well-known makes, and it beat them hollow for sound, playability and beautiful finish.I’ve used it for the odd gig over the years, but I think my gigging days are over, and I’m moving to a smaller flat, so it’s time for a few guitars to go.------------------------------------
