Hello there! We have been asked many times to bring high quality but more affordable instruments then we usually sell and here is it...)Up for sale is a beautiful Balalaika instrument with stunning flamed maple back. It’s handmade by "top 10" Russian modern instrument makers, A. Potaphkin. This instrument is brand new and was completed on November 2016.
This Balalaika is made of aged, premium woods – the body is made of aged, naturally dried (not kiln-dried) flame maple; the body top is resonant spruce; the neck is a combination of woods.
Please don't be fooled by it's price - in terms of sound and build quality this instrument comes closer to high end Balalaikas made by Pavlovs or Khulakov (contact us for pricing), while costing only half of it's price.
While being priced as "a student's Balalaika" it features far superior materials when compared to the other instruments in it's price range...This instrument has a has a beautiful tone, wide, loud and open with lush overtones and you can definitely use it for your study, participate to the orchestras or perform at your solo concerts.
This instrument may not have have some fancy exterior as our custom "top level" instruments but it's beautiful on itself and I'm sure that this instrument will be your workhorse through your career. All instruments that we sell are chosen and selected by maestro Alexander Tsygankov himself (my dad), who is “People’s artist of the Russian Federation” and a professor at Gnesin’s Academy of Music.
