This is a Ted Klum Focustone Handcrafted model in a 7 opening, made of solid silver. As with all Ted Klum mouthpieces, it plays amazing, and I chose this one for how it sounds.Focustones have gone through various changes over their production, and I like some of the latter ones. Earliest ones have a lot of zing and punch with the medium chamber, but I've found the upper palm key notes to be thinner. Then there was a run of mouthpieces with a significantly larger chamber. This one produced in the past couple years is a happy medium--it's got a medium-large chamber that's still smaller than a Florida No USA, giving it that characteristic bell-like tone and a nice focus, but with full, singing palm-key notes. There's just a bit of resistance to push against, but it's a responsive mouthpiece with nice overtones. Similar to a Link, but with a less spread sound. It's in very good cosmetic condition, the only notable flaw is a slight nick on the left side rail that doesn't impact playability at all.
