With the Mojave MA-100, you get a small diaphragm tube condenser mic, with what we would call the “Mojave mojo” at a great price point. Built with high quality Jensen audio transformers and military-grade JAN 5840 vacuum tubes, it has a similar sonic signature as the MA-200 and MA-300, but with faster transient response and a more pronounce midrange. It also has very high SPL handling, so try it as a snare spot mic or even on a guitar cab. Of course this is going to shine on acoustic instruments that traditionally benefit from a small diaphragm condenser’s accuracy, including acoustic guitar, drum overheads, and piano.
