Here we have a truly custom order and very rare DW Collectors Series II drum kit with pure maple shells in very special sizes. This kit is very special, it has sequential serial numbers from the smallest tom through to the bass drum, the kit's born date is July 20th 2007 and it is finished in Natural to Regal Blue Fade Satin Speciality. The kit comes with a full Red 5 Audio Mic Pack that has been factory installed, the kit is installed directly in to the shell so there are no nasty cables running on the outside of the drum and this kit could be used with other microphones if you wished to change them out for other models.Pure Maple ShellThe most popular wood for drum making, maple is a hardwood that produces maximum resonance, projection and attack. Combined with reinforcement hoops, it can produce a more focused sound and is well suited for live and studio applications.Bearing edges for these drums are 45 degree, while the bass drum is 60 degree. All cuts are from the outer edge of the shell tapered toward the inside of the drums. Because the all the toms and floors on this kit are shorter dimensions there are no reinforcing rings, there are however the standard rings fitted to the 24 x 20 bass drum on this set.Timbre MatchedAll of these shells underwent the DW Timbre-Matching process.
