Note:  I am going to try this once more because of a nonpaying buyer.  Please do not bid if you are not able to complete the sale.  You must contact me if you have less than 10 positive transactions and wish to bid on this neck.Pictured above is an original Very Hard To Find 1959 FENDER STRATOCASTER SLAB BOARD NECK.  In 1974 I took a Japanese Les Paul with a broken neck to LAYS GUITAR REPAIR in Akron, Ohio.  Legendary guitar luthier, Virgil Lay, offered to replace the bolt-on Les Paul neck with a Stratocaster neck to save money.  You old timers that went to Lay's will remember all those necks hanging on the wall.  After a few years, I put the neck on a 70's Strat body and didn't learn until later the significance and value of this slab board neck.  I removed the neck and kept it safely stored hoping I could someday match it with a '59 body which hasn't happened; so it's time to sell (as with most all of my collection).  The four extra mounting holes are where Virgil mounted this neck to the LP body.  I do not know the history of the neck prior to 1974.  I did not clear coat or refinish the neck.  If Virgil did, it was done before 1974 (43 years ago).  I did not play this neck much as you can see by the close-up photos.  This classic 1959 thin neck has a great feel and will be a nice addition to your project.  I am offering this neck as a true auction with NO RESERVE and a very low starting bid (no "Buy It Now" price, the high bidder will own this neck).  It will be very well packed for shipment and mailed via USPS Priority Mail with signature confirmation.  Thanks for looking.
