A fine, rare, old French certified cello bow by Nicolas Maline, 1845.
A very fine, rare, old French cello bow made by Nicolas Maline ca. 1845, certified by Isaac Salchow in New York. Nicolas Maline was a great master and one of the most important bow French makers of the period. N. Maline was making some of the best bows for J.B. Vuillaume. His bows are highly esteemed by fine musicians and collectors worldwide.
The stick is red brown pernambuco, round, strong with some flexibility, fine balance and excellent quality, powerful sound. The weight is 73 g and the length of the stick is 69. 3 cm. It is in a very good, restored state of preservation with some restoration done to the upper part of the stick, ready to play.
