Here is a seldom seen antique Edwardian 9ct gold mounted conductors baton in its own fitted leather case.
The case is in superb condition as well.
Slight scuffs and rubs to the corners and wear on the gold line around the box top.. two brass clasps keep it closed.
Open the lid to see the cream silk on the underside and the navy blue velvet inset where the baton is sat.
The baton has 3 x 9ct gold mounts which have only got the makers intials H.P&S of Henry Perkins & Sons London 1926 and the 9.375 on every mount.
The wood is either ebony or its stained lacquered wood.. it too is in great condition.
The gold has been polished and the marks are a little rubbed but you can see them easy enough.
The conductors baton is NOT a dangerous weapon.. even though it is called a baton .. its the wand he uses to keep everyone knowing where they are.
The baton is 18 inch long x 5/8ths inch dia t the top x 1/4 inch dia at the bottom.
The leather case is 19 and half inch long x 2 and a quarter inch wide x 1 and a quarter inch deep.
This would make a fabulous presentation item for the right person or orchestra. They do not make them like this anymore. See close up pictures for more details and condition.
