Hi, and welcome to my auction! Today I'm selling my beloved Left-Handed G&L L-2500 bass, in 3-tone Sunburst, with OHSC. As they say, "Time waits for no man," and neither do his bills! So I've decided to liquidate this wonderful bass in order to pay some of them!  As for the specs, the body is Alder wood, the neck is hard-rock Maple with a Rosewood fretboard (1 3/4" nut width, with a 12" radius that's REALLY easily to play), and the body and neck have a "matching" 3-tone Sunburst finish - it's really hard to capture in photos, but it's a beautiful color. As for the electronics, it has two MASSIVE G&L Magnetic Field humbucking pickups (they're not just massive in size, but they put out a WHOPPING big sound!), an equally-massive bridge (Leo Fender-designed G&L Saddle Lock with chrome-plated brass saddles that allows you to "lock" the bridge, which keeps the saddles together and diminishes vibration-canceling "movement" in the saddles) all run by a Tri-Tone™ electronics system with 3-position pickup selector, series/parallel switch, 3-position pre-amp mode switch, volume, treble, bass (it's basically an active-EQ system that allows you to 1.) switch pickups, 2.) select either series/Jazz or parallel/Precision-style sounds and 3.) either takeaway the active-EQ system, or put it back in, or even put it back in with "treble-boost" as well; the knobs are for Volume/Treble/Bass - pretty much everything & anything you could want!), and it's all topped-off with a set of Custom G&L "Ultra-Lite" Tuners with aluminum tapered string posts (very light, but strong, and - along with the massive bridge anchoring the strings - REALLY gives you unbelievable sustain as well!). Now, be forewarned: this is NOT a "light" bass, just so you're aware: my scale has it right around 10 lbs! (But when you consider most 4-string Alder-wood basses come in around 9-9.5 lbs, I suppose that's not too bad, eh?) It also comes with the original G&G deluxe Tolex hardshell case as well. And yes - I AM the original owner. As for the condition, well...I'm looking at it right now, and I'm simply not finding a mark on it - I always handled it gently, and it really is in mint condition. The case has a few marks on it (as you'd expect), but there are no rips, tears, holes etc anywhere on it and the inner-pocket is intact and all the latches on the outer shell are sound & functioning. Now...as to the SOUND of the instrument: I'm not sure why, but this particular bass has a wonderful body-neck dynamic that really gives it a unique sound - it's almost like the notes are "jumping" off the fretboard, do you know what I mean? It doesn't matter what brand of string I put on it, it always seems to have a very "lively" sound (is that the right word?). Anyway, I'm sure most of you have had one particular bass (in your memory) that had that certain sound, well...THIS is that bass, I'm really not kidding! It has a big-time low-end (especially the low-B string), a punchy mid-range and (depending on the string type, i.e., steel, nickel, flat/wound, etc) a nice, clear treble to boot. All in all, I can't imagine finding a better 5-string bass, especially for the price.  And oh, that reminds me...As to PRICE: look, I'm not a big music dealer or anything (most of my feedback has come from selling movies, strings...just small-time stuff, really), so I'm not looking to hard-ball anyone. I just want to find a good home for this bass - somebody who really needs it & wants it - while at the same time being "responsible" to myself (based on how much I paid for it) as far as how much I get back. If I can find someone who really wants this instrument and is willing to offer a price that I can live with, then I'll be happy to sell it. The price I'm asking is what (I feel) is a fair price for such a superb instrument, but I'm certainly willing to talk with folks about it. So feel free to send me a message if you can't quite scrape this amount of funds together for it & I'll see what I can do for you. I can't promise anything, but sometimes I can find some wiggle-room that will allow me to find "common ground" with the buyer. But again, you never know if you don't ask, so let me know. Last thing: due to the (ridiculously) high cost of shipping right now (hey - gas prices came down, so how come shipping prices didn't as well?), I cannot - under ANY circumstances - sell to any international bidders. I feel bad saying that - as I've many friends that are either foreigners or currently live & work overseas - but the high cost of shipping has made it completely out of the question.
