Up for auction is a killer 1972 Gibson EB-3 in Heritage Cherry Red aged to a nice Walnut color! This is the more desirable Short Scale model.
100% original except for the Grover tuners which make the guitar stay rock solid in tune. Every solder joint untouched, 1972 dated pots, original 'PAT NO' black decal pickups. Original bridge with plastic saddles swapped for metal ones for better sustain.
This bass has a very unique awesome POWERFUL sound -  The tone is "FAT", warm with lots of bottom end. It can have a nice growl! This guitar is in GREAT vintage player condition - awesome PLAYER!Showing lots of honest play wear and finish checking. This is the guitar you will not be afraid to rock hard with!
The neck is perfect and has a comfortable rounded profile. The frets still have lots and lots of life left, and show no grooves or indentations. Nice action and GREAT playability! The EB-3 is a true design classic. Few basses are as easily recognized as the Gibson EB3!
Back in the day, the EB-3’s most famous proponent was the great bassist, vocalist, and songwriter Jack Bruce. Jack’s work in Cream was a mind blower.
