This legendary amplifier High End Stereo or Pro Amp is in very good condition and is listed as 7/10 for age only and it has had some modifications made to it by Clarke Johnson from the Absolute Sound and there are a few scratches on it. I am the second owner of this amp. I have owned it since the mid 90's where it saw use in my system and then to power monitors in my recording studio. I no longer need it. This amp is priced below the Audiogon Blue Book values average. I am also including a pair of high end speaker cables with the BIN, but not a best offer (400.00 a pair - one end of each will need to have banana plugs replaced - 6ft +/- ). The BIN price is below the trade-in value in the Blue Book. Modifications. The cheap power cord was replaced with a heavy duty cord that was around 250.00 at the time it was installed. In order to cut down on hash & noise in the circuit, the crown light and the volume controls were disconnected by Clarke J. Clarke also coated the circuit board and inside to dampen vibrations. SInce I purchased it the spongy type foam had deteriorate and was removed from the grill. The unit for sale is the amp at the top. The lower amp is an old school CS 800 that is also for sale. Sonically this was rated a solid class B in Stereophile. It puts a clamp on the bass and articulates it very well. I have used this on a set of Bass Scoops with 18" in a live PA and this thing will kick you square in the chest. Here are some links to read more about the amp as described by the golden eared pros. In the Stereophile review it was so powerful it melted the test load.
