I have a Paul Reed Smith McCarty here. This is the 25th anniversary edition in "angry Larry" finish which is a quirky name for red. And it is equipped with the very unique and exquisite narrowfield pickups. It's an exceptional guitar, and i will give you my brief assessment on it. The tone is actually a little warmer than many PRS guitars. The wrap around bridge is a different metal composition than the tremolo equipped PRS's that have brass blocks and steel saddles. Those have more ping clarity to their tone and they . The wrap around also sounds good but it is slightly more 3D sounding, less compressed and has a softer attack. The narrowfield pickups to my ears have familiar qualities of both humbuckers and single coils. They are not to bright and snappy like a strat, but they are not quite as open/wide sounding as full sized humbuckers. They have as much sustain as a big humbucker though. That is where they really differ from single coils. They have a lush lasting sustain and a slow decay to the notes. That is something that i do not hear with strat or p90's. The tonewoods on the guitar are classic combinations. Mahogany, maple, and rosewood. That has been a near perfect combo for 70+ years on guitars, so no real surprises there. I think the wood quality is very good on american PRS's from this era/year. It's very resonant and full of frequencies. Cheap guitars will tend to have a blandish dead tone. This one has subtle layers to the tone that you will hear and enjoy the more you play it. That is the hallmark of any high quality guitar.Included is everything pictured. The hang tag COA, original catalog, truss rod wrench, and white tolex 25th anniversary hard case.It has very light wear only, on the body, mostly pick pattern wear. There is one chip in the headstock. The headstock on this model is done in a satin finish so it does not look very "stark" like a ding would on a gloss finish. Overall it's a beautiful guitar with luster. The frets are healthy and full, no jags or pits. The electronics are working like they should be. And the setup and playability is like butter. It plays effortlessly. So that's the story on this guitar. I am pricing it out at a sweet spot price that makes it very equitable for a high end guitar of this caliber. Ships fast and ships insured.Thank you for reading and considering!
