18th Century! A Fine Old Antique Violin - By Michael Stadlmann c.1787

An 18th Century Viennese Violin dating to 1787 - Stadlmann. The length of back is 356mm; the instrument is therefore fullsize.
I am advised by multiple professionals in London that the origin is correct and was given to me as such, everything is accurate. I was given a verbal appraisal of £5k +
Two correct labels inside:
1) "Michael Ignatius Stadlmann... Geigenmacher...Wien 1787"
2) "Repaired and improved by M.David, Johannesburg, South Africa, 1945"A nice golden varnish. The violin has multiple repairs, including two professional internal patches, the cracks are stable. The scroll is original, and grafted onto a later neck. The violin also underwent professional integral improvement, which is why the violin sounds so good. There are scratches and other wear as expected for an 18th century instrument.This is a very good collectors piece.The sound is good, better than you'd imagine... sweet and warm and projects very well. French style tailpiece, ebony Teka chinrest. The bridge was fitted at Beares in London.
"The Stadlmann family is a very famous Viennese violin making family. This maker is named Michael Ignatius Stadlmann and he lived from 1756-1813. The Viennese makers are generally thought to be the best of the German makers. It is very well made and has many Italian characteristics- Showing influence from Rome makers such as Jacob Horil.
