Thanks for checking out the VTP-1B! I built this unit to recreate the amazing tube recording equipment of the 60's with the functionality of any modern preamp. I think that it more than exceeded my goal. On low gain settings, it offers a clean, clear sound, but as the ECC83 tubes are pushed harder, it overdrives and emulates the high gain recordings of vintage labels such as Abbey Road, Motown, Capital, and RCA records. Please listen to the sound clips, they speak for themselves! This preamp is literally one of a kind. I selected high quality and affordable parts (listed below) and hand-wired every circuit. Not only does it sound great, but it looks incredible. The face plate is painted in a glossy Bahama Blue (a color used on classic GM cars), it has a neon lamp, and large Switchcraft XLR jack! Features: All tube, transformer balanced signal pathDirect input-20 db padPhase Reverse6 position HPF (10, 20, 45, 120, 250, 600 hz)4 position Output attenuation (0, -5, -10, -15 dB)48v Phantom PowerSwitchable 600 ohm load resistor on outputParts:2 JJ Electronics ECC83 S TubesCinemag Input and Output TransformersHammond Power Transformers and ChassisSolen and Illinois Polypropylene Capacitors Carbon Composition ResistorsVishay Wire-wound Resistors in Power SupplySpecifications:Gain : 65 db maximumFrequency Response : +/- .1 dB 20 to +20k hz Input Impedance : 150 Ω balanced 100k Ω Direct InTubes : 2-ECC83 SAC present on tubes: 2.5 mV on filaments .1 mV on platesNoise level : -101 db with gain at zero -65 gain at full no input connectedPower Supply : 115 VAC 60 hzReviews:" It's badass! Just finished a band rehearsal with it on lead vox. Nice work! It sounds amazing! Need a full rack of these!" - Neil M. (purchaser of VTP-1A - the first version of this preamp) "This preamp did wonders on my vocals and instruments! It gave me a silky yet gritty sound that brought my tracks to life!"-Kim Gravatt (Baltimore Musician)Flaws: small scratches and scrapes throughout.
