12 string Ovation Preacher Deluxe in very good cosmetic condition. It has a couple of dings but it buffed and shinned up beautifully.  There are hints/specks of oxidation on the pickup covers and the top of the tuners if you look closely. I recently discovered a very small piece of the pickguard had broken off on the lower bass side through the center of the screw hole that had been glued and re-screwed. I will load a close-up pic very soon. Like all other cosmetic issues on this guitar it is hard to notice unless your really looking for it. The neck has been oiled, the body polished and buffed; it really shines. This is one nice solid mahogany made in the USA guitar with pro set up and a new set of nickel strings. Nickel strings on a 12 string makes a world of difference tonally compared to bronze in my opinion. The neck is dead straight on this girl. I do not know the precise year on this guitar but it was built in the mid-70's.

I was sure the case was original with this but likely not. It is a high end, high quality brown vintage hard case thats of the same ere or close to it. The guitar fits like into the case like it should be original (keys included). The case is a durable hard case and in great condition. Sadly the onboard electronics are not working on this guitar but the original circuitboard is included. I wanted to keep the original pots and caps are still on the circuitboard. I had new CTS 500k pots and a vintage bumble bee capacitor put in it, the tone sounds beautiful to my ears and my tech's. It is set up in a basic 3-way master tone master volume configuration. One switch hole was widened to accommodate a full size switch, the other switch is a "dummy" and open for custom possibilities??? The pickups are both strong, especially when played individually. When the switch is in the middle position the volume is a little softer- around 1 1/2 notches in volume is the simplest way to describe it. I know that paradoxically you get a louder tone in the center position. An experienced hand would be needed to adjust the volume going into this position live. I don't consider the slight drop in volume enough to be considered an issue and neither did my tech, but that is still an objective point of view.
That said, the tones from these pickups sound great, the bridge pickup leans toward a strong treble/lead tone and the neck a strong rhythm/bass tone. With a spot on setup and new strings I've found this guitar very hard to put down over the last two days. This is always a good sign, I've owned a couple hundred guitars and I know a player. It absolutely nails Zepplin and Bowie- I'm sure it would nail the Byrds as well but my thing. It weighs on the shy side of 9lbs in my estimation.  Shipping on this guitar is free. If your an Ovation fan then you are obviously into this rare guitar. If your not and looking for a tight solidbody 12-string you won't find any better for this price, play it an hour and any adversities towards this brand will disappear.
