Up for sale is my 1965 vintage yellow Fender Mustang. No repairs, no breaks , no mods all original. solid alder body. Frets are original and still in very good shape, as is the fret board the action setup is very low. Clay dot inlay fret markers on a exotic rosewood fret board. Very low action and clarity. The pickups are essentially flat pole Stratocaster pickups with covers over the magnets same as used in the 65 Stratocaster.(scatterwound with Formvar 42 around Alnico V polepiece magnets)  This is the last year before the CBS takeover.The tones are surprisingly similar, although the Mustang has the added benefit of a pair of phase switches for a very cool hollow sound when both pickups are engaged and out of phase, this Mustang is an absolutely killer vintage Fender with a true road worn look and feel. The neck has a vintage medium C profile.  1 5/8" nut width and vintage 7 1/4" fret board radius. The Kluson Deluxe double line tuning machines still work smoothly and hold pitch well. The electronics all work as intended and sound great. The original bridge is present, as well as the early Pat. Pending chrome vibrato unit, complete with the original arm. This vibrato has excellent spring tension and actuates with a light touch, jumping back to the original pitch. Cosmetically, the body shows only a moderate amount of honest play wear, mostly around the edges of the body and on the back with a few assorted small chips and dings in the finish .The chrome hardware is stunningly clean on the guitar with a great feeling and playing neck, the first time it has been removed to show the heel date stamp, and very well balanced guitar.  I have placed an original finger pick at the worst area on the top ( view pictures)  This guitar comes with all the items shown, all the original booklets and tags and the original leather strap and string packet along with the originally purchased (in 1965) coil style flat end Fender amp cord....that is way too cool in itself.  I have placed new strings on it , see picture. It also comes with the original case as pictured. Interior of case is amazing less the body end where the strap button wore through the red cloth. No smoke environment. Externally it has that authentic 52 year old real players look. Some rust on the latches. One latch catch is missing the hook on the latch, could be easily replaced or possibly repaired. The other latch is complete and works fine as does the middle catch latch , so the case will not just pop open unexpectedly on you.
