In the dobro line, Gibson has just introduced a limited edition Phil Leadbetter signature mahogany model. Only 50 guitars will be made in this series, and Phil will inspect, play and sign each one before it is shipped.Designed in close cooperation with Dobro virtuoso Phil Ledbetter, winner of the 2005 IBMA Dobro Player of the Year Award, the Limited Edition Phil Ledbetter Dobro from Gibson Original uses innovative, modern construction to deliver the projection and volume modern Resophonic players need for today’s technically demanding music. Featuring a deep, solid-mahogany body, sound post-and-baffle construction, and a hand-spun Quarterman aluminum cone, the Limited Edition Ledbetter Dobro combines a rich bass and an open midrange for a responsive, punchy attack. The Mahogany used on the Guitar is Highly figured " Beeswing" Mahogany. Guitar sounds as good as it looks.
