This wonderful and unique instrument was handmade in the Couesnon workshop in Mirecourt, France in 1950. Mirecourt has long been one of France's most important centres for lutherie, with a tradition of instrument making that goes back hundreds of years. Gypsy guitar luthiers are often surrounded by a special mystique and Couesnon is no exception. This guitar was purchased by me in 2011 from ‘The Fellowship of Acoustics’ in Holland. This example is Couesnon's gypsy jazz round hole model. The original neck was replaced in 2012 with a new one fashioned by top luthier John Le Voi. John used the same headstock design as the original and added a new ebony fingerboard which joins at the 14th fret. It has been outfitted with a genuine gold plated Bilardi tailpiece, bought from Francois Charle in Paris, and a set of modern Schaller brass plated tuners.Age has worked wonders on this guitar. The sound is very dry, with very little overtone ringing and clear, strong fundamentals. The round hole makes it possible to sound a little sweeter than many other gypsy jazz guitars when played more delicately with pick or fingers. This guitar has so much character and there is not another one like it anywhere in the world!
Guitar also comes in quality hard case, if you would like some more pictures please just message me.

ThanksP.S I would be willing to post the item to Europe but buyer would need to arrange the postage/collection at there own cost.
