1.8 Tozan jiari shakuhachi made by the famous master maker Kono Gyokusui II. It plays wonderfully and powerfully, the tone colour is superb, plays with ease, the shakuhachi techniques responds very well and is perfectly in tune. It is a very responsive instrument!!! It can play the full range of the octaves, 3 in total.The top and the bottom part of this shakuhachi has three cracks and have been repaired nicely with monofilament lacquered with brown urushi. The utaguchi has a small chip that has been repaired as well. You can play on this shakuhachi all the shakuhachi styles from Honkyoku to modern and contemporary music. It bears the stamp of Kono Gyokusui II. There are no more shakuhachi flutes from this master maker as he passed away few years ago. The shakuhachi master, Riley Lee recommended his flutes after Miura Ryuho´s. His flutes usually sell from $1,800 up to $5,000.The total length is 54,5 cm. Diameter on the utaguchi: 3,8 x 2 cm. Diameter on the root end: 6 x 1,7 cm. Holes diameter: 10 mm. Weight: 423 grs.
