SUPER RARE Gibson Mona-Steel String Box - the only one in existence? 1930s-50s? I have been collecting Gibson stuff for over 30 years and this is the only box I have ever seen like this. It is numbered number 39 on the back of the drawer and stamped 39 on the inside of the box. The font on the number 39 is similar to what you would see stamped on the back of a guitar headstock. Has an old brass type handle for the drawer pull. It is missing a couple of the original feet. Has one small missing piece on the upper corner of the drawer. And has beautiful vintage Gibson Mona String brand information on the front side of the box in what appears to be red paint. I believe this could be the only remaining example of this type of Gibson string box. Again it's the only one I have ever seen. I am not sure of the wood type but it could be mahogany? The size is 12 inches long by 9 inches wide by 5 inches high. This is strictly for the high-end super rare Gibson guitar collector!
