2004 Fender Stratocaster USA Standard. Here’s a fine example of an American Standard Stratocaster in near mint condition. This particular guitar has an excellent upgrade which improve the performance of this guitar no end. Aside from it looking classy, under the pickguard it has a set of handwound 1960 replica pickups wound by the owner of House Of Tone Pickups, the set that is in this guitar are the ones that have been recently reviewed by Guitar and Bass Magazine. The guitar itself is as stock as it gets, nothing bar the pickups has been changed, the guitar weighs in around 7.8lbs and is currently and recently (as of today) set up with Rotosound 10’s. There is zero fretwear on this guitar, the neck is straight, thanks to the Bi-Flex truss rod adjuster that has proven to be a great success with Fender’s since the 80’s. This isn’t one of the Standards with the somewhat un-shapely bodies from the 90’s, it’s contours are in the right place and the neck features the rolled edge fretboard, making it very comfortable to play indeed. Radius is 9.5” which, as well as the neck shape, make this guitar very easy to play. These Standard Strat’s are really honest in their name, yet user friendly and very functionable. The added bonus of the House of Tone pickups in this class it pretty close to a custom shop in terms of quality and sound. The electrics, are also as standard, no hum issues, two capacitors for the Delta-Tone pot on the bridge position pickup. In my own personal opinion these Stratocaster’s are some of the best available, as good as new ones like the American Professional or whatever they’re calling those ‘new standards’ They have stark similarities to this version of the Standard yet don’t cost over £1,200. The other valuable asset this guitar has is the famed ‘Red Label’ molded guitar case, which does have a distinct sweet Fender smell to it and is quite nostalgic for those who bought Fender’s in the 90’s! I’m pretty sure this isn’t the original case for the guitar as they changed the molded plastic to a smoother version in around 2003 and this guitar would have had that when it left the factory. It does have the manual, tag, warranty stuff but no lead or strap. Be assured that you’re buying from someone that genuinely understands these guitars.Any questions, please feel free to email.
