Hi, Check this out: 64/65 Melody Maker P-90 conversion, with a beautiful hard-shell, "5-latch" Gibson case. She has a somewhat unusual sized body, its just a touch smaller than a regular Melody Maker, but the neck is still full scale length! The case is also made for this specific size, and will not accept a SG, or Jr, or regular sized Melody Maker. The case is amazing, 5 latches, and is in fantastic condition for its age. I dont know if it was original to the guitar or not, but it fits beautifully, and is constructed like a tank! The guitar was modified and drilled out to upgrade to a P-90, and a custom, red, "tortoise shell" pickguard was added, as well as an upgraded 50,s style wiring harness. The P-90 came out of a 2015 Les Paul, but you can add whatever other pup you prefer later. The tuners, and bridge are original to the guitar. The body has been refinished, with gunstock oil, and paste-wax only, no polyurethanes, or other lacquers have been applied over the wood. The idea being, was to keep all her natural resonance intact. In fact, the body is a 1 piece slab! The only tiny issue is, sometime, in the long ago past, someone added different tuners, so the old, tiny screw holes are barely still visible in the back of the headstock, but not badly. Shes really a beautiful guitar, and case, and shows and plays great. Very cool, retro, blast from the past, that has a bit of a better sounding pickup upgrade than the old one had. Thanks for looking. |
